10 Lazy Summer Girl Beauty Tips

Have no fear girls, you can still look fabulous with minimal make-up, or simply use these quick and easy beauty tips to look great all summer long. After all, let’s be honest, we all have days where we need quick and simple tips, or we are just feeling lazy, here you go! Enjoy! 1. Sunglasses & Floppy Hat

Sunglasses are a fashionably great way of protecting your eyes from the sun. But why stop there? Complement those shades with a floppy hat, and you’ll be protecting your head and shoulders while looking classy.

2. Primer

Most primers on the market contain silicone. Silicone is an ingredient that is very good to have in your primer to maintain your makeup application. Come rain or shine, it will prolong your application throughout the day, but remember to prevent your makeup from separating.  To avoid having to touch it up, follow these rules:

• Don’t apply your makeup with your fingers. The oil on your hands can cause your makeup to separate. Apply your makeup with a foundation brush instead. You can use the same foundation that you have used to apply your primer with your foundation, usually a BB Cream ends up being your friend during this season.
• Silicone and water do not mix. So, make sure your primer matches your makeup ingredients. Since you are using a silicone based primer, make sure your makeup is silicone based, as well.

Once primer has been applied, apply your BB Cream – light foundation is all you need in the summer. Follow it with blush and gloss, and if you prefer, add eye liner and mascara as a finishing touch.

3. Shave Smartly

If you are anything like us, then all of those steps to shave is just too much. Shave some time of this tedious endeavor by using a shaver that has built-in shave bars and moisturizer, like a Gillette Venus Razor.  You’re legs will feel smooth and look great, because of these added features.

Protect Your Skin & Hair

Protect your skin from the harsh winter chill and avoid flaky skin by staying hydrated throughout the season.

The first step is to exfoliate your skin. It’s always helpful to exfoliate, whether you’re using a natural exfoliator that you’ve purchased or one that’s homemade. Removing dead skin cells is very important as this leaves the skin healthier-looking and—well—healthy. This also allows the skin cells to grow to their full capacity.

Thicken Your Hair with Chamomile

You’ve heard me right. In addition to chamomile to calming an upset stomach, calming migraines, calming the redness on your skin (even for babies!), it has amazing benefits to thicken your hair. Who knew?! Quite honestly, this doesn’t apply to me, as I have really thick hair, enough for the bald heads, as my many hair stylists have told me since i can remember. Not too brag. So, I had turned to a friend who has thin hair to try this out. 

Since thick hair derives from healthy hair (how to obtain and main it, click on the link for my tips :)). All you have to do is drink a cup of chamomile tea.

I have tried a few dry shampoos over the years. Some of them have left my hair oily. My hair isn’t oily. It’s normal. Or, my scalp dry. I didn’t feel it was really doing the trick. I was given a sample of this product from Sephora the other day. Though I’d try another dry shampoo, not knowing what to expect, really. Even though, i have not been disappointed by this co-created line by Jennifer Aniston. This dry shampoo, does not dry my scalp, nor does it make my hair or scalp oily. It’s luxurious and prestigious. I encourage you to give it a try. Dry shampoo is powder texture product. Powder absorbs oil, so if you scalp is dry, I wouldn’t recommend using any dry shampoo. If your hair is normal, that’s entirely up to you. If your scalp and hair is oily, definitely use a dry shampoo. Wash your hair in the morning, and by late-afternoon spray this formula into your hair to give it a pick-me-up. It will restore your style to how it was in the morning after you’ve styled it. Dry shampoo is good for in between wet washes. So, it does clean your hair, even though it’s powder-based.

Hair Tips: Washing Pastel Coloured or Coloured Hair

I’ve recently added purple into my hair. I had thought, why not? It’s such a trend. I went medium-purple so it would lighten to the shade of my desire; lavender and lilac.

What was advised to me from my hairstylist was the best way to wash your hair (on How to Attain and Maintain Beautiful, Healthy Hair, plus on how to properly wash your hair, please click on the link), use sulfate-free shampoo. This even works for coloured hair in general. The colour actually lasts longer. The shampoo I’ve decided to use is from Kiss My Face.
