It’s always good to have a hydrating pout, so drink up that water. Did you know, that green tea contains Vitamin C. It also re-hydrates quicker than water? Well, it does. It’s a great alternative to water, or vice versa. Depending if you’re a green tea drinker, than water is a great alternative if you run out of green tea.
Lush Lip Scrub in Mint Julips C$9.95
Exfoliate That Pout!
Always begin by exfoliating your lips. You can purchase a lip scrub or use what you have in your cabinet. Instead of using white sugar that is a little too harsh. In addition, it has been said that white sugar can end up in between your pores. Who wants that? Not me. No, thanks. To substitute white sugar would be brown sugar. It is healthier for the skin with an additional advantage. Brown sugar is coated in molasses. Brown sugar helps to prevent and remove any sun damage one may obtain from the sun, thanks to it being coated in molasses. Furthermore, it does contain B vitamins. Brown sugar has tow benefits for your skin. It is rough enough to remove dead skin cells, plus it’s soft enough to moisturize your skin. Apply a bit of water to your brown sugar when you are exfoliating. An exfoliator that moisturizes your lips. How wonderful!
Exfoliate your lips by taking a clean, un-used toothbrush to scrub the exfoiliant that’s on your lips for about thirty seconds, or so. Remove formula with water and a cloth. Done. Lips exfoliated. You will notice how soft your lips feel. It’s super-soft. It is like silky-soft.For more moisture if lips are really dry and chapped, add honey. I’ve heard you can add coconut oil. I haven’t tried that last one; only honey. I love them both. I add in honey during the winter months. Not in the summer time. Too moisturizing.
As great as it is to moisturize your lips. Your lips have skin on them like any other part of your body. Sunscreen has now been known to be one of the best anti-aging cream to use to prevent fine lines and wrinkles due to it’s moisturizing properties. It’s said to be better than a moisturizer. As for the SPF factor, you really don’t need anything more than a SPF 60. Even that one is quite strong. It delivers full coverage.
Line Those Lips
Lip liner is designed to hold your lipstick/gloss in place to prevent any “feathering” or “bleeding”. It makes the lips look crisp and all. If you have ran out of lip liner, or if you’re like me I have learned an alternative when I was on a shoot years ago. Instead of lip liner, I had used a powder foundation. My trusty Duo Mat Powder Foundation by Make Up For Ever solved my problem. With a small powder brush or a medium to a small size concealer brush. With powder on your brush; line your lips with the powder. It creates a clean line. Keeps lipstick/gloss in place.
It’s a great alternative to wearing lipstick for those of you who don’t like wearing lipstick. It is a stain, so it’s long-lasting.
