Lemons, limes and grapefruits are natural bleechers, which means they help to remove any uneven complexion, redness, dark circles, brown/sun/age spots, etc. IF you don’t have sensitive skin, you can use the lemon juice (or any citric fruit that is mentioned) as is. If your skin is sensitive, then dilute the citrus juice. Dilute it with water. If your skin is very sensitive, like mine is, then I diltue the lemon juice by pouring in the same amount of lemon juice. So, if you have a quarter of a cup of lemon juice in your cup/jar/bowl, then the same amount of cool water is what will do the trick. I promise you, it will not cause an irritation to the skin. Same goes for lime and grapefruit. This mixture makes for a great all natural toner.
Ibuprofen to be precise helps to reduce reduce redness, this includes blemishes. For the full recipe, please click on the link above. 🙂
Bamboo reduces and calms any redness on your skin. It’s also an anti-aging ingredient, so in addition to removing the redness, it also keeps the fine lines and wrinkles at bay. Bamboo has recently been discovered to be a bit more effective than aloe vera, in addition, it works much quicker, too. Don’t get me wrong, aloe vera is an oldie, but goodie. I know that The Face Shop has a really good bamboo gel.
Thanks to its bacterial and calming properties, chamomile is so gentile that you can even apply it on your baby’s bottom when they have a rash or just straight redness. After brewing the tea bag, through away the tea bag. Wait for the tea to cool down. I’d say wait about ten minutes or so. Use a makeup pad (one that you use to remove your makeup) on areas where you have inflammatory skin. Even rosacea. This has been an ancient treatment to treat inflamed skin. Or you can enjoy a cup of tea after brewing it. If so, enjoy!
